What do I.D. and O.D. really mean for your Chair and Furniture Cap Glides?
So what do the initials I.D. and O.D. really mean when measuring and ordering your chair caps? You have probably seen these terms before but never really knew what they meant. Well, wonder no more…we’re here to help.
Now let’s break down these words to see what they mean to you.
If you have a square or round chair leg tube, the diameter is the measurement from one side of the tube to the other. Measurements can be taken from the outside of the tube or from the inside of the tube.
If you measure the tube from the outside, then you will get a measurement called the O.D. (outside diameter)
or, if you measure from the inside, then you get a different number called the I.D. (inside diameter).
When ordering any parts from our website, be sure to know which measurement you are using and order appropriately.
We hope this clarifies O.D. versus I.D. If you have any questions, please call our office at 561-775-2122.
